“Communist hunger propaganda”, Finland, 1951
“The Communist newspapers are constantly explaining how conditions in the country are supposedly becoming worse even though the statistics prove that consumption of the most important foodstuffs and other such products is now more common than during `the good years´ in the 1930’s.”
Following the end of WWII, the Communist Party in Finland was quite powerful, prompting some fears that they would take over the country. However, by the early 50s, an improving post-war economy gradually weakened their power.
